 Corpus Christi, TX

Recently joining our team is Cheyenne as one of our farm managers. Cheyenne recently graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi with a BA in psychology, minoring in business administration.

Originally from Wisconsin, she grew up on a farm and fell deeply in love with horses. Her mom had her in the saddle before the age of four and she was taking lessons at a hunter/jumper farm shortly after. She showed in the Chicago area from short stirrup to having several winners in the jumper ring from Low, Modified and High Children’s jumpers. She also showed successfully in HITS-Ocala, earning Grand Circuit Champion in 2010 and making her level four debut in 2011.

To sustain this dream for a middle-class family, her mom turned to breeding as an answer to provide the top-quality horses. Thus, sparking a vested interest in equine reproduction in Cheyenne. Her family bred and foaled out several foals but unfortunately due to extenuating circumstances these young horses had to be sold shortly after being broken out.

Unwilling to give up her dream of being apart of the equestrian world she managed to take lessons and eventually lease a fantastic Dutch Warmblood mare through college. Upon graduating, her mom inspired her to continue to follow her equine dreams and apply to First Flight Farm.

In her spare time, Cheyenne has a great love for reading and is often in the middle of more than one book at a time. She enjoys cuddling up with her Miniature Pincher/Manchester, Athena, while reading and feeding her coffee addiction. Cheyenne is also a novice quilt maker and enjoys sewing dog blankets for Athena.
